Frequently Ask Questions
30 Jan 2012 Comments Off
Q: But I am not Southeast Asian? Can I still apply?
A: YES!! Our graduation is not solely based on ethnicity, race or skin color; but also your hystory, your claimed identity, and your community. In any way(s) you feel that you are or can identify with our community, please don’t let your ethnicity become a barrier.
Q: Why is the application due so soon this year compared to previous year?
A: In order to keep up with our logistical tasks, we decided to have the deadline early this year to keep things progressing more smoothly.
Q: Is February the “soft” deadline?
A: From previously year we’ve had two deadlines, “soft” (the first) and “hard” (the final) deadline. Again, due to logistical reason, this year we will not have neither soft nor hard deadline, just one deadline, February 14th, 2012. So please don’t wait and apply now!
Q: Will you be doing rejection this year?
A: Southeast Asian Graduation main purpose is to celebrate our community achievements, so we often do not opt out anyone who themselves identified with our mission statement and decided to be a part of this graduation. All are welcome. However, we do hold the rights to reject the applicant if his or her application is turned in late, incomplete, or not attending the required events. We will handle it in a case by case manner.
Q: I cannot attend all the required events, what do I do?
A: Please email seagradoutreach@gmail.com if you have any conflict or concern, our team will try our best to reasonably accommodate your situation. From previous year, we might have you do something else if we cannot pick a better date to accommodate everyone.
If you have any more questions please email seagradoutreach@gmail.com or come out to our two info sessions to directly get help!
